Here we are in a new millennium, and we still define people first and foremost by what color skin they have. In the United States we have a man running for President who is equally as much a Caucasian as he is a Negro. Exactly fifty-fifty. We do not call him a Mulatto. We do not call him bi-racial nor multi-racial. We are most accurate when we call him an African-American as his father was Kenyan and his mother American. But mostly we call him Black. Here’s an idea! Write checks to American taxpayers for more than $100 billion dollars, divide it up amongst 117 million families, and give everybody around $600. Then, tell them to go spend it on stuff, to help grow the economy. Give businesses some money too; say $50 billion more, so they will buy more stuff, like equipment, or a bigger building to put their stuff in. Read more...

A different kind of New Year's resolution

As the end of the year approaches, I look back on 2007 and understand that none of us want to consider that we will not be here in 2008. But this is possible, if not probable. With that said, if you are 25 or 75, I encourage (and if you are 75 I would like to insist), that you make your end-of-life decisions now, or as a New Year's resolution, and put these morbid, yet necessary decisions behind you as soon as possible.
