Some blogging tips

Want to set up a blog? Here are step-by-step instructions on how to get started:
1) Register your e-mail address with the VenturaCountyStar.com site (in addition to registering on YourNews specifically). You will use your e-mail as your log in information for your blog.
2) Click “become a blogger” on the right site of any YourNews page. You’ll enter in your name and e-mail address and why you want to start a blog. This information will be sent to the YourNews staff for approval. Once you’re approved, we'll send you an email to confirm. Then, you'll be ready to get started.
3) Visit http://www.venturacountystar.com/blogs/admin and enter in your e-mail information and the password that you use to sign into the VenturaCountyStar.com site.
4) You’ll see your name and a few options underneath.
5) Click “Add an entry” to start blogging.
6) Enter in a headline, a one word "story name" in the "slug" field, a quick summary of your blog and then blog away in the "entry" form.
7) Click "Add this entry"

I have a private blog, shaverone.blog.com, that I've been trying to have the Star link to. I know this is possible, as I have seen other private blogs linked from the Star. These blogs, however, are grossly out of date. I think the originators have since stopped blogging. But, the instructions given by the Star cut out before I can finish. Is it still possible to create this link?
